The Story

The Scattered Embers are Gavin Beere and Evan Munns, based in Auckland New Zealand. They once played together in Capstan Band, a covers band in Hamilton, New Zealand in the 80s on the pub circuit. Serving up rock covers from the likes of Bowie, The Angels, Stones and Thin Lizzy they built a loyal following at gigs at The Hillcrest Tavern, Lady Hamilton and other venues. The band folded after a couple of years.

Fast forward to 2021, coupled with a desire to write and play original music, Gavin tracked Evan down and floated the idea a few years ago. The next weekend, they got started on this quest. Rattlesnake Blues was born from early sessions in Sanders Studio and they have continued since penning this song, writing and recording new tracks.

They currently enlist Nicola D from Italy on drums and Kyle Holland  from the USA, who masters the final mixes. Evan turns the dials on Ableton to get tracks recorded before the drums get added and Kyle works his magic. The dream is to play live again when the repertoire is enlarged.
